Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
To say goodbye
Isn't a pain
Unless you're never going...!
(Tee hee)
Jon Bratton 2004
**
Here's me trying again
To say goodbye
Isn't a pain
Unless you're never going
To say hello again
Jon Bratton 2004
**
A goodbye isn't painful unless you're never going to say hello again.
**
Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will.
**
Excuse me, then! you know my heart;
But dearest friends, alas! must part.
John Gay
**
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel,
so nothing can harm you.
Irish Blessing
**
May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and the rain fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Irish Blessing
Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning.

The web page brings you some of my messages and snappy one liners, and some quotes, sayings by others, about saying farewell, goodbye, cheerio, tara, Auf Wiedersehen, au revoir, arrivederci to family and friends, work colleagues, co-workers, teachers, parsons, school friends which can be used in a leaving card or speech
Some pronounce again as agein as I did but some pronounce again asagen so...
A goodbye isn't painful
Unless you say it when
You know you're never going
To say hello again
Jon Bratton 2004

In the USA this rhymes fine
Wherever you may go
Wherever you may have been
Saying goodbye is fine
If you say hello again
Jon Bratton 2004
**
Or you could avoid the difficulty like so
To say goodbye
Isn't a chore
Unless you're never going
To say hello once more
**
It takes a minute to say hello
Why? I wonder why
When it's seems to take forever
When you have to say Goodbye?
Jon Bratton 2004
Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
Goodbyes are not forever
Goodbyes aren't final, when
You only mean we'll miss you
Until we meet again
Jon Bratton 2004
Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
This goodbye will only seem
Like an eternal pain
If I fail to merely miss you
Until we meet again
As we assuredly will
I've made my mind up
Jon Bratton 2004
You know that you are in love when the hardest thing to do is say good-bye
**
We only part to meet again.
John Gay
**
Every farewell makes the next hello closer.
**
Can miles truly separate you from friends. If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?
Richard Bach
**
In the hope to meet
Shortly again,
and make our absence sweet.
Ben Jonson
Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
We say goodbye for many reasons
Not all of them pleasant;
But it's worst when not given that chance
To say it at all, and be quiescent!
So just you come back and say it
That my love's been 'given the sack';
That would at least give me a chance
To get my heart back
Maggie-May 2010
**
Parting is sweet sorrow
Who the hell said that!
I can't forgive your leaving
And not coming round for a chat!
Maggie-May 2010
**
I'm missing you already
And you've not gone yet;
Our laughs and our silly jokes
You'll miss me too, I bet
If I get half a chance
I will visit you;
Its just a shame
you're going
All the way to Timbuktoo.
Well, alright, (Birmingham), but still...
Maggie-May 2010
**
We've shared good (times)
We've shared good fries
We've shared good (beers)
But never goodbyes...
Till now
Mind how you go, good buddy

Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
Leaving Verses Poems Quotes
Well folks here we go again
It’s goodbye ditty time
That’s when we say goodbye to friends
With insults, all in rhyme
But tonight we have a change of style
It’s a different kind of do
We’ve cut my usual eloquent, articulate, smooth and polished speech
That’ll save an hour or two
Oh well, if we speak quite quickly
And get it over with
We can all go off and enjoy ourselves
At the house of Peter Smith
You want to rush my masterpiece
My Ma-Salama poem
Especially for our two friends
As they make their way back home
OK keep your hair on
There’s no need for you to shout
Steve, where’s the barrels of oil
Err The shops were all sold out
What!! No barrels of oil
How can this be so?
We always palm......err give those barrels
It’s a tradition don’t yer know
We wanted to do the traditional thing
And give the usual stuff
The characatures - we’ve got them... right?
Err... we didn’t have enough
Yer see the kitty’s kind a small this time
So we’ve been somewhat thrifty
EXACTLY how much did we rouse?
EXACTLY ....SR10......50
But Steve’s been so resourceful
He doesn’t need the shops
He scrounged some old recycled oil
From a guy in Vehicle Ops
Oh and he got those nice barrel things
To seal the oil in
Err...not exactly .. he used sellotape
And an empty pepsi tin
Anyway, forget about the pressies
The lads will understand
Besides, I’ve got a story
And I need you to give a hand

Leaving Poems Verses Quotes Collection
It is worth checking more than one section as many leaving verses poems quotes are inter-changeable
Let's return now to the long Farewell Speech I started this page with
So who was Hamish? who was Vic
Who hid the paint at home
Who was Maria Magdelana
That invited Bill to Rome
Who rang up from Gibralter?
To try to make some sales
Posing as one Roch de Spain
With gold mines down in Wales
Most of you know very well
To you it’s nothing new
But for those of you still confused
Here’s a clue or two
One arrived five years ago
The other came much later
But each has spent their office time
As a Bill impersonator
Their homes may be worlds apart
But their roots are just the same
They are both from solid Celtic stock
They share a common name
O’Neil announces Ahsen
Whenever she phones
Oh Neil, Oh Neil, Oh Neil
That’s the voice of .....
Roma Jones
One is single, one is not
Yet how can this be true
If, between them you count the weddings
The total comes to two
John’s been here so very long
Tho’ some would question how
If you ask Niall how long it’s been
He’ll say “what time is it now”
So where Niell’s lacking staying power
He’s very quick to quit
John has ... what can I say
A resiliance to Shit
Both have dealings with traffic police
One involved, the other slight
While Niall spends all his days down there
John stays overnight
They’re both keen PADI divers
Weighed down by lead
To swim among the rocks and wrecks
On the red sea bed
They impersonate wrecks themselves
Lying on a bed
For getting up each day for work
Is like the raising of the dead
In, they race every day
Shaving on the run
Hair still a tangled mess
Neck ties still undone
But they can never beat Mubarak
No matter what they do
Cos he likes to lie in bed
And on the timesheet too
Niall likes open spaces
To run among the rocks
And escape the claustophobic
Or the office cardboard box
While John is more an indoor man
But he keeps from getting fat
By walking miles .. up and down the aisles
Of Safeway and Sarawat
Whereas Niall goes mountain climbing
Cos he likes to stretch himself
John’s greatest climbing challenge
Is Safeway’s highest shelf
Nialls got a patio
That no ones seen at all
While Johns got a bar reserved
For drinker’s 8 feet tall
Now if Niall’s patio and John’s bar
Should ever chance to meet
You’d have a really lovely place
That’s totally obsolete
Right .. it’s time to
Say a bit
About Niall in isolation
And why he felt the need to
Submit his resignation
Niall’s our short term champion
Yes I know there’s Dick and Bill
But Niall’s the shortest timer
Who left of his own free will
He never really had a chance
Working with H.D
And following the confrontation
He became the office refugee
All our desks moved around a bit
But none more so than Nialls
His was fitted with pulley ropes
And a set of castor wheels
And he caused so much confusion
Though his parents are to blame
Because no one really knew quite how
To pronounce his bloody name
Is it NILE as in the river
Or is it KNEEL as in prayer
Hisham said NIL... as in zero
But that was hardly fair
And he spent so much time across the street
It’s easy to see
Why even Wiltshire thought Niall worked
For DSR & D
Now we turn to the retail trade
And really make a meal
Of the obsessive window shopping
of Mr...John O’Neil
Yer see most men dislike shopping
Fellas aint it true
But shopping is John’s hobby
It’s his favourite thing to do
John even learnt Karate
But not to maim or kill
He views a Mawashi-Seri
As an extra bargaining skill
John came here as a single guy
But he’s more the marrying type
He’s concerned with the price of beans
Or if the fruit is ripe
Yer see all the other single guys
Drank and brewed up beer
While John preferred a shopping trip
Down at Mosadia
But then John soon realised
He should take stock of his life
So off he went on a shopping trip
This time for a Wife
He set his sights on a Catholic girl
One who always goes to mass
But being Irish, he married Ahsan
A Turkish Muslim lass
But still she was the perfect choice
One of the real Turkish delights
And though not a Catholic
She could get cheapie flights
When John first befriended her
He didn’t lure here into bed
He wanted something exciting
He took her shopping instead
To propose, ost guys get the girl
Alone in their apartment
John proposed to Ahsen
In Safeways Meat Department
