St Valentines Verses Poems
To love is to share, the good and the bad,
The joy and the sorrow, glad days and sad
To love is to give, and to keep on giving
To please and to pamper, loving and living
To love is to forgive, failings large or small
And then to forget them, once and for all
To love is to say "I truly love you"
And by this Valentine message...
...that's what I hereby do

Ain't that one a challenge to your spell checker. Here's the properly spelled poem
I may be wrong or right
In not talking to you before
Maybe before I made mistakes
But I now know that it's you that I adore
With all my heart
Be my Valentine
I love you very much indeed
Please say you'll be mine

We're all a little weird, indeed life is a little weird.
Should someone’s weirdness and ours be compatibly so
We fall into mutually satisfying weirdness
Which we call love ...now that's true love, don’t you know
Hello.oo Fellow.ww Weirdo.oo!!,
Get your coat, you’ve pushed
...errr..pulled

Our love grows and grows
Still stronger through the years
Nourished by our laughter
And sometimes by our tears.
Happy Valentines Day

You seem to me to be
The visible personification of absolute perfection
The very thought of you invariably
Produces an erection
Of a giant billboard in my mind
Which says (Veronica Mavis Parkinson)
Please be my Valentine

We met as strangers.
We became friends.
We fell in love
We became one with each other...
We remain as one forever.
I don’t say this often enough
I love you Darling

We began as strangers
You became my friend
Now our love is like a circle,
It has no end

When we're together
Or when we're apart
You're first in my thoughts
And first in my heart.

Just as a meadow, washed by rain
Is re-lit by the dawn,
So our love, as we grow old,
Will each day be reborn.
Happy Valentines Day

Our love over the years has grown
It’s now solid to the core
May the years ahead be happy ones
Each one happier than before
Happy Valentines, my Darling

I knew that I had been touched by love
The first time we met and shared laughter.
I knew I had been touched by love
When I wanted you in my “Happy Ever After”
I knew that I had been touched by love
When I awoke this morning next to you in bed
The (3,640th) morning I’ve done so
Since (9) years (355) days ago, when we wed
Happy Valentines Day, My Darling

Be my Valentine,
And you’ll never walk alone.
My heart will protect you,
And my arms will be your home
As my Valentine, I just cannot
Shower you with diamonds or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy life
Or prevent you from growing old.
But I can offer you complete devotion;
And keep you from heartache and sorrow;
I’ll be there for you each day
And still there each tomorrow.
Please be my Valentine

Here's a golden oldie

My love is like a cabbage
Divided into two,
The leaves I give to others,
The heart I give to you.

The mystery is...
How does love begin?
The challenge is how
to make it stay.
The magic is when it does...
It has...
It’s magic...!
I Love You...!

You and me,
Together forever we will be;
As long as there is Heaven and Hell,
We will always be well;
Every time I look into your eyes,
I know my heart never lies;
About the way my love for you is true,
And for that love of you anything I would do;
When I feel the sweet feel of your touch,
It just makes me want you so much;
Inside my arms,
So I may protect you from all harms;
Even when the world is over,
Only one thing will still hover;
And that thing will always be,
The love between you and me.

To a long time love
Though decades come and decades go
As time goes by from year to year,
Just seeing you, still makes me glow
I loved you then, I still do, so dear
Loving you has turned life to play,
I write this poem to you, who's mine
As we laugh at time, from day to day.
Please darling remain...

St Valentines Verses Poems
We present valentine card verses
We hope that you're delighted
But to commercial card companies
They're all copyrighted
I provide, in addition to St Valentines Verses Poems, Verses for lovers, partners, children, parents or friends, Love Verses which may be appropriate for a St. Valentines Day Card
Remember that a general verse or poem can be changed to fit the person to whom it is being sent. You can change, for example, "special" to "important, "admire" to "love" or "I" to "we" . You can add a name, or a number. For more on personalising verses/poems
The tradition of sending valentine day poems grew out of a very old story.
Claudius the Roman Emperor
Wanted to make his army more scarey
Unmarried men were more suitable
Because they were more carefree
So it was simple. He banned marriage
So he'd have more men who fought
Valentine performed illegal marriages
And got the death sentence, when he was caught.
The daughter of one of his prison guards
Became a supporter and friend
And before he died he sent her a note
Which said "Love from your Valentine" at the end.
This was on 14th February 269 A. D.
Allegedly
To this day people send St Valentine love poems, but the St title is usually dropped and called poems for valentines, love poems for valentines day or valentine verse.
If you are a Crafter/ Individual you are free to use them without asking permission including Card Makers who sell cards on a semi commercial basis (ie sales of not more than 50 cards per week)
but note copyright law applies to
* the body of work in parts and as a whole
* individual verses so far as commercial companies are concerned.

write for the occasion

Applicable to Website Publishers
Have You a Poem You'd Like To Share?
Many people write poems for a particular occasion or for a particular person just because they want to, but often it is because they just can't find anything out there that will serve the purpose. Although written for a specific person it does not mean it would not be appropriate for another person, as is or with adaption.
For example a poem written for a sister might have verses or express sentiments appropriate for someone else's mother or a poem to a mother might work well for a father.
Do you have a poem you've written or been sent that you'd care to share?
I'd love to hear from you
