And d'yer know why I did it?
T'was especially for you

Happy 50th Birthday Poems
You look brand new
Half a Century looks good on you
You're oozing flair, you're so debonaire
With your 50 years of savoir-faire

Oh no, say it isn't so
Not the big Five-0
© V4C
You don't stop laughing
Because you grow old.
You grow old
Because you stop laughing, I'm told
Keep laughing thro to your 60th
© V4C
It's your 50th birthday
Let the celebrations start
Enjoy life’s oh so precious gifts
And remain young at heart.
© V4C
You’ve started to decompose
But that’s how life goes
So what if hair grows
On toes and up nose
And elsewhere I’ve chose
Not to disclose
Just depilate and party late
And have a happy Birthday, mate

You’re at the big Five-0,
It’s no good saying oh no!
Face it, gravity is winning
Dragging down bits from head to toe.
But hey, here’s how to look young
It’s the eternal secret...no joke
Just hang about with 60 year olds
Or better yet, even older folk
Happy Birthday!

Five decades on, and you’re still ticking
Nowhere in sight is that bucket for kicking
(You continue to give life a whirl
Have a wonderful day, Quinquagenarian Birthday Girl)
(Having you around, brings so much joy
Have a wonderful day, Quinquagenarian Birthday Boy)

Today you’re 50
No doubt, for lost youth you hunger
But remember these words of wisdom
“No wise man ever wished to be younger.”
So put up with your old joints
While embracing your new wisdom
Happy 50th

At 50, have you now realized
Getting old isn't fair
And that it's hard to make a comeback
When you haven't been anywhere.

Forgive me for writing this
Though I don't think I'm wrong
You're not yet a wrinkly
But it won't be long
Jon Bratton © 2010

Be pleased to look forward,
And pleased to look behind,
Count today, your 50th, and each birthday
With a grateful mind.
I’ve got no tacky commercial gift
But I do have this priceless thought to give
Birthdays are good things to have
When you consider the alternative

Happy 50th Birthday Poems
There's mysteries of life to ponder.
But here's a thought that confounds
How does just two pound of chocolates
Make you gain a full five pounds?
© V4C
At 50, you probably get muddled
I'm the same, that's how I know
If you ever get lost, don't worry
Just change where you want to go.
Jon Bratton © 2010
© V4C
Let's make this, your 50th, a memorable occasion
In every single way
And I'll be there to help you
Ensure it's a wonderful day.
Congratulations on your 50th Birthday!

“The "I just woke up" face of your 30's & 40's
Is the "all day long" face of your 50's” you need to know
But still, you’re just 50 today, so it’ll be tomorrow
Before your new old face starts to show
Happy 50th, and smile
before it becomes a grimace

May your 50th birthday bring
You as much happiness and joy
As you give to everyone
Who knows you.
Enjoy your day.

Having reached the half Century
If to see historical sites is far
It's not really worth it when many of them
Are actually younger than you are
Happy Birthday
Dear Old Relic

Even at 50, you're not too old
To set another goal or to dream a new dream
Get adventure, ahead of dementia
Is a sound idea, it would seem
It's the big Fifty
But stay nifty

Remember how excited you were when you turned 5?
Today, you're no doubt 10 times more excited.
Yes, being fifty takes stamina and endurance
That simply wasn't expected or invited

Congratulations on turning 50.
You're half way to becoming a centenarian
And since chewing meat is now a chore
You should give serious thought to becoming a vegetarian
Jon Bratton © 2012
There are numerous advantages in being fifty
Ask any eighty year old
Everything that doesn't hurt, doesn't work
And you feel permanently tired, achy and cold
Be careful that you don't lose your false teeth
When you go to blow all 50 candles out
And do try hard not to have a pee
Ahead of getting your water spout out
Jon Bratton © 2012
© V4C
You've started to enjoy elevator music
And you're considering wearing a cap
And you grab every opportunity
To take a right good nap
All the signs are there
Let's be honest, it's getting scarey
While your brain's been getting wisdom
Your nose and ears have been getting hairy
If we tell you that at 50
You're not over the hill but at the peak
Your new wisdom will tell you that it is
With forked tongue, with which we speak
But here's the truth
We wish you the heartiest of congratulations
On reaching the Half-Century

50th Birthday Rhymes for those turning fifty
Heartiest congratulations (Bill) (husband), dear
On reaching the big (Five) (Six)-O
You've been a dynamic whirlwind all your life
But now you're running slow
To my "lets go upstairs and make passionate love"
You used to bound up with glee
Now it's "I can't do stairs and passion ..
You'll have to choose which one it's to be"
You used to be insatiable
You were always there on cue
Now the expression "all nighter" means
Not getting up for the loo
As for the fact you're thinning
That's hardly fair
You're not follicularly challenged
You've just outgrown your hair
Lots of folk have 40 winks
That's a natural response
You do that and read the paper
While watching telly, all at once
So it's OK for you to slow down
You're getting older, after all
It's time for you to invest in a pipe
Some slippers and a shawl
The clues that you're getting old
Are there (Bill) it's true
Your belt won't buckle any more
But your knees most certainly do
You've entered your (60th)(70th) decade
But you look good all the same
Who cares if your hair is thin and grey
And you'll suit a Zimmer frame

This is the web page that has a whole bunch of "age insults" that can be chosen to incorporate into your own happy funny, humorous nay hilarious sweet poem suitable for the half Century birthday of a husband or, with adaption, a friend or family member
We've been together since we were young
We're now getting old, and how
The fire is still within us
We just call it heartburn now
Now you've reached this old old age
Don't start to dye your hair
Don't think of having face lifts
And don't change the clothes you wear
Don't modify your language
Don't rebel and cause outrage
Decide to do the decent thing
Just lie about your age
Anyway you're not at all like a (50)(60) year old
And I mean what I say
Mind you, being a (Jim Reeves) fan
Is a dead giveaway
Enough of all these insults
I do hope you realize
How highly you’re respected
How kind you are, and wise
God bless you on your birthday
Let the celebrations start
Enjoy life’s oh so precious gifts
And remain young at heart.
For age is just a state of mind
And life can be such fun
And you still know how to party
As much as anyone
So let's make this a memorable occasion
In every single way
And I'll be there to help you
Ensure it's a wonderful day
The love of friends and family
Will be with you today
So enjoy the many wishes
Which are bound to come your way
Let your (50th) (60th) Birthday
Be the best one of your life
...so far..
This comes with love from (Name)
Your best friend and wife

Chronologically gifted, you’ve aged like fine wine,
Complex & fruity, bordering on perfection
Except that your ears, eyes and memory don’t work
And you to struggle to get an erection

Happy 50th Birthday Poems
You’re not old, just youthfully challenged.
But you’ve become a wise sage
However, being as you are between desirability and complete senility
You’re at that awkward age

Happy 50th Birthday Poems
The big Five 0 is here
The first flush of youth has gone
It's not about age, it's about attitude.
Unfortunately, you’ve got one

Happy 50th Birthday Poems
Unfortunately, youth is no longer on your side
You’re most decidedly over the hill
But on the bright side, old age and treachery
Will always beat youth and skill.
