St Patrick's Day is celebrated around the World on the 17th March, by Irish descendants and those who claim descendancy for on 17th March everyone wants to be a Paddy and get drunk on black or green beer. In Ireland they celebrate for five days with music, theater, carnivals and performances, ending on March 17th with a big Parade.

St Patrick's Day verse # 9
There's a dear little plant
that grows in our isle,
'Twas St. Patrick himself
sure that set it;
And the sun on his labour
with pleasure did smile,
And with dew from his eye
often wet it.
It thrives through the bog,
through the brake,
through the mireland;
And he called it the dear
little shamrock of Ireland—
The sweet little shamrock,
the dear little shamrock,
The sweet little, green little,
shamrock of Ireland!

Andrew Cherry,
Irish Playwright (1762-1812)

A Toast from Ireland:
May you be poor in misfortune
Rich in blessings
Slow to make enemies
Quick to make friends
But rich or poor,
Quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward

An' long life t' yer honour;
That's the end of my song t' ye!

St Patrick's Day poem # 21
Saint Patrick was a gentleman,
he came from decent people,
In Dublin town he built a church,
and put upon't a steeple;
His father was a Callaghan,
his mother was a Brady,
His aunt was an O'Shaughnessy,
and his uncle was a Grady.
Then success to bold St. Patrick's fist,
he was a saint so clever;
He gave the snakes and toads a twist,
and banished them forever.

St Patricks Day Verses Poems Quotes

St Patrick's Day poem # 22
To the land of his masters
a shepherd boy came,
But to conquer their hearts,
not to seek for his fame,
And now his blessed name is known
all the world wide,
And the glory of Patrick
is Ireland's best pride.

St Patrick's Day poem # 23
Today is St. Patrick's Day,
Do you have the luck of the Irish?
Well you need to get a lucky charm,
And make a great big wish.

It's the time to eat corned beef and cabbage,
And also drink green beer,
And raise our glasses in a toast,
And bring in alot of cheer.

So don't forget when you go out,
To wear green by the way,
Then you can join all of the rest,
And have a great St. Patrick's Day!
