Sweetest Day Poems verses and quotes
Because you are sooo very sweet
In every which way
I encourage you to stuff your face
And have a wonderfully calorie filled, naughty but nice Sweetest Day

This page has material suitable for inclusion in a card to be sent on The Sweetest Day of the Year which is the third Saturday in October. Many greeting card occasions are wrongly thought, by the cynical general public, to be inventions of the greetings card industry but this one truly is a shameless cynical unadulterated money raiser by the business community. It seems to have developed into an extra Valentines Day for men when women pamper men with gifts and intimacy. If you want to participate but show a little cynicism here's a silly little rhyme wot I wrote

Do I love you dear?
Was Hitler fond of war?
Is it you that I a-window?
No, it's you that I adore

Have the sweetest day

I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore,
there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing
I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now,
and not defer or neglect it,
as I shall not pass this way again.

Sometimes in this lifetime,
we meet a special soul,
who fills our very essence,
to almost overflow,
we drink the cup of friendship,
it tastes like ruby wine,
and you know within your heart,
this meeting was Divine.

This soul that lives within your heart,
no distance can prevail,
an inner spark, within the heart,
becomes a Holy Grail,
the starting of a journey,
in which you both shall be,
a reflection of each other,
for all eternity.

Sweetest Day Poems

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!
Robert Burns

Sweetest Day Poems

To kiss her

And though I have kissed her
A thousand times a day
I would want to make it millions
And continuous without delay
But she can only smile
Because each kiss is of the heart
And she knows that the kiss is endless
It was this way from the start
But in each little touch
The lips desire more
But what else would they desire
When each is unlike before
And within the deep embrace
The warmth is felt abound
And she must forever feel this
Even when I am not around
For distance is not a problem
Or something to cause a pain
For she knows the next kiss is coming
Again and again and again

Sweetest Day Poems

A good character is the best tombstone.
Those who loved you and were helped by you
will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered.
Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.

A four year old child whose next door neighbor was an
elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old
gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor,
the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Sweetest Day Poems

There are so many times throughout a day that we could do
without spending a cent or even taking too much time.
Help someone carry his or her bags to the car.
Hold the door even if you have to wait an extra minute.
Give up your seat for a pregnant woman, elderly
or an infirm person. Smile at the person next to you.
So what if they don't smile back or say thank you.
You've still done something sweet and it is,
after all "Sweetest Day".

Whether you're giving, receiving, or just watching
from afar, nothing brightens up your day like a
token of affection, or seeing people treat each other
with kindness.

Every man feels instinctively that all the
beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less
than a single lovely action.
