Sweetest Day Poems
This Sweetest Day Poems verses and quotes page has material suitable for inclusion in a card to be sent on The Sweetest Day of the Year which is the third Saturday in October. Many greeting card occasions are wrongly thought, by the cynical general public, to be inventions of the greetings card industry but this one truly is a shameless invention of the candy industry to sell more sweets. Starting in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1920's it has become a recognized day, to some, in some areas in the North East of the USA.

I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. William Penn

HEART TO HEART
Sometimes in this lifetime, we meet a special soul, who fills our very essence, to almost overflow, we drink the cup of friendship, it tastes like ruby wine, and you know within your heart, this meeting was Divine.
This soul that lives within your heart, no distance can prevail, an inner spark, within the heart, becomes a Holy Grail, the starting of a journey, in which you both shall be, a reflection of each other, for all eternity. Lilaneyah

RED RED ROSE
O my Luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June: O my Luve's like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass, So deep in luve am I; And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun; And I will luve thee still, my dear, While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve! And fare-thee-weel, a while! And I will come again, my Luve, Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile! Robert Burns

Sweetest day Poems
To kiss her
And though I have kissed her A thousand times a day I would want to make it millions And continuous without delay But she can only smile Because each kiss is of the heart And she knows that the kiss is endless It was this way from the start But in each little touch The lips desire more But what else would they desire When each is unlike before And within the deep embrace The warmth is felt abound And she must forever feel this Even when I am not around For distance is not a problem Or something to cause a pain For she knows the next kiss is coming Again and again and again Brian Williams

A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble. Charles H. Spurgeon

A four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Sweetest day Poems
There are so many times throughout a day that we could do without spending a cent or even taking too much time. Help someone carry his or her bags to the car. Hold the door even if you have to wait an extra minute. Give up your seat for a pregnant woman, elderly or an infirm person. Smile at the person next to you. So what if they don't smile back or say thank you. You've still done something sweet and it is, after all "Sweetest Day".
Whether you're giving, receiving, or just watching from afar, nothing brightens up your day like a token of affection, or seeing people treat each other with kindness.

Every man feels instinctively that all the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action. Lowell
Many people write poems for a particular occasion or for a particular person just because they want to, but often it is because they just can't find anything out there that will serve the purpose. Although written for a specific person it does not mean it would not be appropriate for another person, as is or with adaption. For example a poem written for a sister might have verses or express sentiments appropriate for someone else's mother or a poem to a mother might work well for a father. Do you have a poem you've written or been sent that you'd care to share? I'd love to hear from you

V4C write for the occasion
Hi, I'm Jon Bratton and this website is my retirement income provider, thankfully. I've always been a rhymester and have, over the years, written many farewell to coworker ditties, love poems for valentines, roastings for milestone birthdays and so on. This interwebsite was originally created for card makers, stampers and scrapbookers to provide verses, quotes, one-liners etc for their papercraft creations. You'll find me, on a personal basis on
Facebook
There are over 400 pages of material and I've done my very best to provide good internal navigation to help you find the perfect verse or quote for you. Not everything on here was written by me. I've included the work of Author Unknown who is very good, I find and I have also included
contributions from you guys
Thanks, and please keep 'em coming. Now for details of the Verses4Cards page on Facebook and if you like what you find on my interweb site I'd really like you to click the Like button, coming next. Chow!
