And we love that you want to protect us from any harm
You keep us alive even the bad and good people.
We thank you so much for keeping us safe.

2011 Memorial Day
"They were brave then,
and gave us the freedom we have now.
But would they be so proud, if they knew
to our enemies, the President would apologise and bow?
Some leaders, who with disdain, wish to stray
so far from our roots,
tie the hands of our soldiers who fight
and force many to turn-in their boots.
This, too, shall not last as it never has in our past.
History will prove that this country shall not move,
from the proud traditions set and honoring
the courage of those we have not met."

Today we honor all of you,
Who served your country with pride,
You risked your life for all of us,
As you fought side by side.
Your strength and courage always showed,
No matter what the danger might be,
And you did all of this,
So that we could all be free.
Thank you all for what you've done,
And now we will all pray,
For each and everyone of you,
On this Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a time for thanks and remembrance
I’m grateful for knowing that I have a safe place as I wake to a new day, for the right to speak my mind, or kneel quietly in prayer... For the dreams I strive to reach, for the love I'm free to give, For the laughter shared with dearest of family and friends, a necessity to live. For the security and peace of mind that all is safe and sound, For growing, sharing, hoping, caring.....there is goodness all around us. For all of this, we’re grateful for, whisper softly or loudly sing……Their duty and their sacrifice have let our freedom ring! Memorial Day is a time for thanks and remembrance. May God bless you richly.

Like many of us, I see efforts to separate God from country, and country from religion. I believe, like our nation's founders that our land of America is a land under God, and that it is God who gave us this land where we are free to worship Him. I also believe that without God's intervention our freedom would by now be lost. I dread the thought of the consequences we , as a nation, could face if we continue the ongoing efforts to disregard Him.
I tried, in writing this poem, to instill the importance of God to country.
Stand Proud, Stand Tall
by Ron Tranmer ©
The flag of our nation, a flag under God.
To our flag we will always be true.
Stand proud, stand tall with hand over heart,
as we honor the red, white, and blue.
A symbol of freedom. A banner for all
who reside underneath it's proud wave.
Though battered and torn, shattered and worn,
It flies, o'er the home of the brave.
Stand proud, stand tall, with hand over heart,
with respect for this flag we so love.
May this land always be, strong and free,
and protected by God from above.
We are a proud nation. One under God.
It was He who gave us this land.
Free we remain, to praise His great name.
Rise up, and for God make a stand.
Our flag has flown high over battlefields.
Covered caskets of daughters and sons.
Great is the cost, through lives that are lost.
We'll gratefully remember each one.
Stand proud, stand tall, with hand over heart,
with respect for this flag that we love.
May this land always be, strong and free,
and protected by God from above.

We salute each and every one of you,
On this very special day,
Because you served your country with so much pride,
In a very special way.
So on this day we say thank you,
And we're as proud as can be,
Because you risked your life for all of us,
And now we are all free!
Welcome home!
