O Lord, death awaits me;
let me remember my sweet England.
O Lord, the enemy surrounds me;
let me spill my blood for my holy England.
O Lord, evil besieges me;
let me confront it for my pure England.
O Lord, darkness deludes me;
let me kindle the flame of my luminous England.
O Lord, time presses upon me;
let me chant the name of my dear England.
O Lord, death awaits me; let me embrace it for my glorious England.
