Webmaster says...another lovely 'from the heart' sentiment that Caroline has expressed and allows you to express to YOUR daughters
by Lindsey Vernon-Lilley
(Doncaster, England)
I wrote this poem to show my dad how much I love him. Just think it's lovely to express how you feel through words and is a great Fathers Day gift.
Webmaster says... this is why I like contributions...this is not a professional writer for the card industry... but just a daughter who wants to say something nice about her Dad...and by submitting this...allows you to say the same to YOUR Dad... Thanks, Lyndsey
MY DAD
All that you are and all that you do,
Makes it so special because you are you.
You never need to change, you’re perfect the way you are,
Bet you never would have thought you could ever come so far.
Through all the bad times and the good,
You have always given all that you could.
So here I am writing this poem for you dad,
To be called your daughter I am so glad.
You’re a true inspiration and I hope that you know,
You are everything to me, few words could ever show.
The world is a better place, no need to be sad,
My life is so lovely, because you’re MY DAD.

This was written for my first grandchild
I loved you from the day I knew your life had just begun,
Slowly growing little hands and fingers one by one,
Tiny little rosebud mouth, a perfect button nose
Wrinkly feet and on the end, ten dinky little toes,
But now your journey's over, you're here, you have been born
I look at you in wonder, at your perfect little form,
So happy BIRTH-day Sweetheart and kisses by the score
If I were paid TEN BILLION POUNDS I couldn't love you more.

My Sister
My first friend was you
You taught me so much
Like Santa was dead
And other such stuff
As we grew older you skinny, me fat
We fought and we argued
About this and that
Our teens saw the tantrums, often over hair
I didn't want to get up and to do yours cos I didn't care
Twenties and babies our bond grew so strong
And I rediscovered what I knew all along
You see it was true
My best friend was you
Thirties were hard work, we went through so much
Closer we became
We never lost touch
Forties are slower we're getting older, its true
More troubles, much fun,
But you see I always knew
That before it was mine, 50 was for you

OUR MATTHEW... NAN'S LITTLE MAN
I was diagnosed with cancer, and nearly died, when I didnt want chemo, this liitle boy helped me get the strength to go through with it.....
I want to tell you about a little boy,
Who's brought our family so much joy,
He was sent to us straight from heaven above,
And since his birth has given so much love.
He makes his nan's life more worthwhile,
When I look at his face and see that smile,
He's the joy of my life, and so much more,
His name is Matthew, and he's going on four.
He has a lovely mum and dad,
With the way things are that can't be bad,
There's so much hurt and heartache out there,
He's loved and protected, with parental care.
I thank God for this child everyday,
And I love him more than words can say,
So thank you Father for giving to us,
This special gift from up above.

Our children are like paintings
Fine and delicate
The more we put into them
The more beautiful and colorful
Our paintings become.

Up at five, I am trying to think of how to tell my ten year old how special she is on her birthday without being to corny and not being very good at poems
When you were born
All you did was sleep and yawn
when you were one
You were as bright as the sun
When you were two
You were covered in poo
When you were three
You were a blessing to me
When you were four
I loved you more
When you were five
You brightened my life
when you were six
You got up to tricks
When you were seven
I was in heaven
when you were eight
I thought you were great
When you were nine
You were divine
And now you're ten
I love you more again
Worth getting up for

To My Dad
Dad as you read these words
I'm thinking of you
And l just want to thank you
For all the things you do
Through good times
And through bad times
Your smile is always there
Encouraging me all the way
By showing that you care
So l just want to thank you Dad
You've been there right from the start
You will always be my hero
And forever in my heart

I wrote this Poem for my 2nd Granddaughter before she was born and framed it to gave it to her Mother and Father.
Twinkle Twinkle little star
Paislee Faye is not too far
Up above the morning light
We soon will see her in our sight
Family and Friends gather tonight
To greet her in the world so bright
It won't be long we'll see her
Smiling face, and soon
Aubree Kae will meet her
Little sister Paislee Faye
