Card Crafters Lament

I wanted to make you a beautiful card,

And believe me, I tried really hard.
I selected the base, the trimmings too,
Then added a bow in forget-me-not blue.
Then came some flowers in a matching shade,
And a few dainty leaves, which if course, I had made.
I cropped, embossed, and die-cut some lace,
And working at a leisurely pace,
Decided that to jazz up this thing,
I needed to add some serious bling.
So on went the shimmer, the gems and the pearls,
And just for good measure, some glittery swirls.
At last it was finished, and with some elation,
Stepped back to admire this wondrous creation.
Despite all the hours of work I'd put in,
It looked like a dogs dinner, and went in the bin!

Then I made this one.............
