A Poem For Daddy

Dad Funeral Poems (Webmaster says of this one: Jacqueline, this is brilliant. I'd love to know how old you are and whether you have written any more poems you'd like to submit)
Mommy always says to me Wish hard and they come true But mommy must be lying Because I still don't see you
She says that you're in heaven But why don't you come home? I don't want you to stay up there All on your very own
We often go to a special place Where mommy says you're sleeping I try my best to wake you up While mommy stands there weeping
I ask my mommy "why are you crying?" She says I'm too young to understand She says that you have gone away To another land
I ask her when you're coming home She tells me that you're never She tells me you will stay in my heart Always and forever
