Poem Inspired by Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe
After reading the "Tell Tale Heart" I came up with a poem...
It’s the eye I say
It’s always there
I wish and wish
But it’s always there
Glassy and haunting
I no longer sleep
I go to his room
I must take a peek
And ah! It’s still there!
Too much to handle
Shivers in my spine
It’s too much to handle
Quick snap, I rush
The bed is down
It’s muffled, the scream
He’s just…out of town
In pieces he lies
Under the boards
The heart I hear beating
Under the floor
They know! They know!
They’re just taunting me!
I yell it all out
I go down on my knee
It was the eye I say
It always was there
I wished and I wished
But it was always there
