No Shoes Great Blues
by Lili D'Aloia-Facey
(Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)
I had the blues Cause I had no shoes Until I met on the street A man with no feet
He gave me a look Then gave me a book In it it said That his name was Fred
I gave him a phone Told him to call home That's when he said That he didn't even have a bed
I said get in the car My house wasn't too far He stayed with me then And we became great friends
Webmaster says: Two can play at this silly game
I had the blues Cause I had no shoes Until I met on the street A man with no feet
So we did a trade Which we both thought neat He gave me his pristine shoes I gave him my dirty feet
The first four lines of this poem were coined by Denis Waitley the Author and Motivational Speaker. Per a Wikipedia page, which reads like it was written by Denis Waitley, he was born in 1933. Hi, I'm Jon Bratton and this website is my retirement income provider, thankfully. I've always been a rhymester and have, over the years, written many farewell to coworker ditties, love poems for valentines, roastings for milestone birthdays and so on. This interwebsite was originally created for card makers, stampers and scrapbookers to provide verses, quotes, one-liners etc for their papercraft creations. You'll find me, on a personal basis on
Facebook
There are over 400 pages of material and I've done my very best to provide good internal navigation to help you find the perfect verse or quote for you. Not everything on here was written by me. I've included the work of Author Unknown who is very good, I find and I have also included
contributions from you guys
Thanks, and please keep 'em coming. Now for details of the Verses4Cards page on Facebook and if you like what you find on my interweb site I'd really like you to click the Like button, coming next. Chow!
