Loss of Pet Poem
by Peter Murray
(Barnsley, South Yorkshire)
Poem about our family Jack Russell called Mindy
Mindy
You were your Daddy’s little girl A friend so good and true You brought so much joy to our family We loved you through and through.
You were a big part of our family For nigh on thirteen years But now you’ve gone and left us With nothing but our tears
No more to see your little face Pop up over the settee. No more to see your pleading eyes As we sit and eat our tea.
No more the Sunday ‘walkies’ Around lake Wintersett Or the yearly hated health check At the nearby Newberry’s Vet.
I will miss our daily jaunts. And your little waddle as you walked. And my little conversations shared In a high pitched child like voice.
We hope you did not suffer As your life it ebbed away. As in God’s great big garden You now run and sniff and play.
God bless you little friend In our hearts you’ll always stay. Not just for now or until next week But until our dying day.
Loss of Pet Poem
Webmaster writes:That is a very nice poem Here's one from me
DOG In Heaven with GOD?
An old man and his dog out walking Came to the "Welcome to Heaven" sign The gatekeeper said. "Dogs aren't allowed But come in old chap, you're just fine"
Said the man "If he can't come in, Then I'll stay out too" "Ok but the devil will promise you anything But he'll only let in you"
The old man and dog went on. They came to a place with no gate or stile, Said the old man "Mind if we come in And sit in the shade for awhile?"
"Come in. Make yourselves comfortable" "My dog can come in? Is that true?" The man said "Welcome to Heaven. And to the dog he said "especially, my namesake, to you"
"You mean this is Heaven? Dogs ARE allowed? Is that so? How come that Heaven just down the road Said they weren't, they said a definite no?"
"That, dear Sir, was the Devil And he really doesn't play fair Dogs, they can all come here, Fickle, disloyal people, they stay there!"
GOD wouldn't allow dogs to be banned HE created them to be man's best friend Why would he separate a man and his dog When their lives finally reach an end?
Of course, both lives rarely end together So when he goes, take your time to grieve Then, when it's your turn, expect a welcome That only a dog can achieve
